The short version
We do not run advertising, we do not use analytics or tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share personal information. The only information we handle is what our web server records automatically and anything you choose to send us by email.
Server logs
Like almost every website, our web server keeps standard access logs. These record your IP address, your browser type, the pages you request and the time of each request. We use these logs only for security and troubleshooting, such as spotting attacks or fixing errors, and they are not used to build profiles of visitors.
Cookies
We do not set cookies for visitors. The website runs on WordPress, which may set a cookie only for logged-in administrators of the site. If you are simply reading the blog, no cookies are set for you.
Comments and newsletters
Comments are closed on all articles, so there are no comment forms that collect your name or email address. We do not run a newsletter or mailing list.
Emails
If you email us at the address on our Contact page, we use your email address and message only to reply to you. We do not add you to any list or pass your details to anyone else.
External links
Our articles link to other websites, such as government and public health pages. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle information.
Your choices
If you have a question about your information, or would like us to delete an email you have sent, contact us using the address on our Contact page and we will help.
