My Restaurant Choice is an independent blog about eating out with the people who matter to you. We write for parents taking a toddler out for the first time, friends organising a birthday for twelve, couples trying to fit a date night into a busy week, and anyone who has ended up as the person who books the table, collects the menu choices and sorts out the bill.
What we cover
Our guides are grouped into a handful of sections. Kids & Family covers eating out with babies, toddlers and older children, from choosing a welcoming restaurant to teaching table manners. Celebrations deals with birthdays, anniversaries, graduations and other occasions. Date Nights looks at choosing places and planning evenings for two. Group Dining and Hosting cover large bookings, pre-order menus, seating and being a good organiser. Lifestyle and Leisure & Games take a wider view of family life, days out and the games and pastimes that go with good food and company.
How we choose topics
We start with the questions people actually face when they plan a meal out: how far ahead to book, what to ask the restaurant, how to keep children settled, how to handle allergies, how to split the bill without awkwardness. We aim for practical answers you can use the same day, written in plain language.
How we check facts
Where an article states a rule, a guideline or a figure, we take it from an official or authoritative source, such as government guidance, public health bodies, universities or established reference works, and we link to that source so you can read it yourself. If we cannot verify something, we leave it out. We do not invent statistics, experts, quotes or reviews, and we avoid naming individual restaurants, because openings, menus and owners change. Instead we describe the kinds of places and features to look for.
